Dr. Cheryl Osso

Dr. Osso joined the team at AVS in spring of 2015 as a graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College. She is a mixed animal practitioner. She has particular interests in behaviour and reproduction in small animals, as well as bovine and small ruminant practice. She lives in Carleton Place with her two rottweilers, Samara and Tali. She is active in the dog sport world with her dogs, competing in agility and training in pulling sports and scent work. She frequently has cat or kittens in her house as fosters. She took over ownership of the clinic from Dr. Goodman in 2017.

Dr. Ross Goodman

Dr. Ross Goodman has been serving the livestock and companion animals of the Ottawa valley for decades. His commitment to the profession, and his passion for the medicine behind it, has driven his pursuit of veterinary medicine over his career. Dr. Goodman brings years of experience to the practice and he takes great pleasure in mentoring new grads and students.

Dr. Rob Clark

Dr. Clark has recently joined the clinic in a full time capacity. He performs a large number of surgeries including cruciate ligament surgeries (extra capsular, tightrope, and TPLO techniques), fracture repair, hip surgery, medially luxating patella surgery, and a large number of complicated soft tissue surgeries. He enjoys getting to know clients and is very invested in their pets. In his spare time, he spends a lot of time at the gym – and you’d recognize him – at 6’6″ he’s hard to miss!

Dr. Shauna Thomas

Dr. Thomas joined the practice after receiving her Doctor of Veterinary medicine from Ontario Veterinary College. She practices mixed animal medicine and has a keen interest in surgery. Sha has a strong passion for international development, and has taken many trips to developing countries to assist in setting up infrastructure and agriculture with the local farming community.

Dr. Adriana Prystay

Dr. Prystay joined our team in 2020, after working in Ottawa prior. Her love of cattle brought her to Almonte Veterinary Services, where she is happy to offer service to companion animals, as well as bovine and small ruminants.
